Kyampisi Agricultural Exhibition Closes with Call to Separate Politics from Development – Deputy RDC Muyambi Moses

Kyampisi Sub-County Headquarters, Mukono North :
The Kyampisi Agricultural Exhibition concluded today with a passionate call from Deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Muyambi Moses for Ugandans to separate politics from development. He cautioned that political divisions often slow progress, urging leaders at all levels to prioritise service delivery above partisan interests and focus on lifting citizens out of poverty.

Organised by the Mukono District Production Department, the exhibition brought together farmers, pupils, students, community members, agricultural extension workers, and technical officers from across the district. The show featured a wide range of services and demonstrations in crop production, veterinary care, fisheries, and entomology, aiming to improve knowledge and practical skills among farmers.

Mrs. Harriet Namatovu Luzira expressed heartfelt gratitude to God for the success of the event, saying all planned activities had been successfully implemented and well attended. She noted that this was the first exhibition of its kind in the area and emphasised its role in helping PDM beneficiaries access quality seeds, improved planting materials, and vital agricultural training. She also applauded the participation of schoolchildren and praised all stakeholders for their teamwork.

Kyampisi Sub-county Chairperson, Mr. Yiga Jamiru, thanked exhibitors, participants, and the Mukono District leadership for their support, promising that the exhibition would now be held annually.

Representing the Chief Administrative Officer of Mukono District, Ms. Elizabeth Namanda, the Principal Assistant Chief Administrative Officer, Mr. Kamara Daniel, commended the Kyampisi Sub-county leadership for excellent organisation, calling the event a model worth emulating. He stressed that the exhibition’s purpose was to provide communities with the knowledge and skills needed to improve agricultural productivity and strengthen local networks.

Hon. Afende Nathan Wambi, Secretary for Production and Marketing and District Councillor for Katosi Town Council, speaking on behalf of the District Chairperson, thanked all participants, especially the people of Kyampisi. He encouraged farmers to apply what they had learned and led a special tribute to the late Kyampisi Fisheries Officer, Ms. Nampiina Annet, presenting a posthumous accolade to her brother in recognition of her service.

Guest of Honour Muyambi Moses, representing Mukono RDC Hajjati Fatumah Ndisaba Nabitaka, hailed Kyampisi as a model sub-county for fostering strong cooperation between leaders and citizens. He praised the Sub- County Chief for demonstrating patriotism by taking services to the people rather than staying confined to the office, and applauded the Sub- County Chairperson for working closely with government staff to ensure quality service delivery at the grassroots.

The Kyampisi Agricultural Exhibition not only showcased agricultural potential but also became a platform for unity, knowledge sharing, and community empowerment. With a commitment to make it an annual event, leaders and residents alike pledged to build on the skills and networks established. The final message from Deputy RDC Muyambi  to put development above politics  resonated strongly, setting the tone for a future where service delivery and poverty eradication take precedence over partisan divides.
