Mourners Pay Tribute to Late Kyampisi Fisheries Officer Nampina Annet, Urged to Serve God and Support the Church Beyond Earthly Pursuits.

Baitambogwe Village, Mayuge District:

Sorrow and reverence filled the air in Baitambogwe Village, Mayuge District, as mourners gathered to pay their final respects to the late Nampina Annet, a devoted public servant who served as the Fisheries Officer and Subcounty Production Officer for Kyampisi in Mukono District. Annet passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025, after battling cancer and high blood pressure.

The burial ceremony, held at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Waiswa David, drew a large crowd of relatives, friends, local leaders, colleagues, and community members from both Mayuge and Mukono districts. The mourners came to honour the legacy of a woman whose commitment to public service, integrity, and faith left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

During the service, Stanley Kizito, a lay leader from St. Paul Bulimu Nkonge Church of Uganda in Mukono Diocese, reflected on Annet’s deep commitment to her Christian faith and her support of the church. “Her life was a testimony of godliness and service. She truly lived beyond earthly pursuits,” he said, calling upon mourners to dedicate themselves to God’s service and the church’s mission.

Dr. Fred Mukulu, the Mukono District Production Officer who led the delegation from the district and represented the Chief Administrative Officer, Ms. Elizabeth Namanda, hailed Annet as a hardworking and compassionate public servant. “She joined us in 2015 and has since been a pillar in fisheries development and community outreach in Kyampisi. Her dedication was unwavering,” he said. Dr. Mukulu also pledged, on behalf of the district, to support Annet’s children with school fees for the final academic term of the year.

Mrs. Namatovu Harriet Luzira, Subcounty Chief of Kyampisi and Annet’s direct supervisor, praised her late colleague for her exceptional dedication, revealing that even while unwell, Annet was actively planning for the upcoming Subcounty Agricultural Show. “Her resilience and professionalism were remarkable. She worked till her very last days,” Luzira said.

Hon. Ganzi Stephen Musoke, District Councilor for Namataba Town Council, represented the LC V Chairperson, Hon. Rev. Dr. Peter Bakaluba Mukasa. In his address, he spoke of his personal connection with Annet, sharing that he had taught two of her sons Benjamin and Julius in primary school. “She was a mother who valued education and made sacrifices for her children’s future. Her life speaks volumes,” he said, encouraging mourners to let their actions reflect purpose and integrity, just as Annet's did.

In one of the most emotional moments of the ceremony, Annet’s sons, Benjamin and Joshua, spoke with gratitude and grief about their mother’s love, strength, and resilience. They described how she raised them singlehandedly after their father’s passing and expressed thanks to everyone, especially the Mukono District family, for the support during their time of loss.

The ceremony was marked by prayers, hymns, and heartfelt tributes from various mourners, painting a picture of a life lived in humble service to both the public and to God.

As the sun set over Baitambogwe, Annet Nampina was laid to rest with dignity and honour. Her legacy as a diligent civil servant, a devoted Christian, and a loving mother will continue to inspire those she left behind. The voices at her send-off echoed a unified message live with purpose, serve with integrity, and anchor your life in faith, as she did. Mukono District and the people of Kyampisi will remember her not only for her work in fisheries but also for the light she brought into every life she touched.
