Mukono District Bids Farewell to Dedicated Fisheries Officer Ms. Nampina Annet: Parents Urged to Raise Children in a Godly Way to Combat Moral Decay Among Youth.

Kyampisi Sub County, Mukono North:
A cloud of sorrow hung over Mukono District as district staff, local leaders, Christians, and residents of the Kyampisi community gathered in a heartfelt thanksgiving and memorial service to pay their final respects to the late Ms. Nampina Annetan esteemed Fisheries Officer, committed civil servant, and devoted mother of two.

The service was held at St. Paul Bulimu, Nkonge Church of Uganda and presided over by Rev. Moses Sabo Byekwaso Katumba, Assistant Vicar of Nakanyonyi Parish, Bukoba Archdeaconry in Mukono Diocese, assisted by Lay Reader Stanley Kizito.

In his powerful sermon, Rev. Moses called on parents to raise their children in a godly way, decrying the moral decay witnessed among today's youth. He praised the late Nampina as a shining example of discipline, purpose, and faithfulness.

“She was the best of the best,” said Dr. Mukulu Fred, Mukono District Production Officer. “She was the kind of employee every department dreams ofreliable, respectful, and committed.”

The farewell ceremony was filled with emotional tributes from leaders and community members who had worked closely with the late officer.

Mr. Jamiru Yiga, LCIII Chairperson of Kyampisi Sub-county, described her as “a lady of everyone,” noting her openness and dedication to both district and sub-county assignments.

In a particularly touching moment, Ms. Namatovu Harriet Luzira, the Sub-county Chief of Kyampisi, revealed that Ms. Nampina had been organizing an agricultural show in Kyampisi, scheduled for this week. In her honor, the district pledged to continue with the event as planned.

 

Ms. Namanda Elizabeth, Chief Administrative Officer of Mukono District, conveyed deep sorrow over the loss and extended condolences to the Production Department, Kyampisi community, and the bereaved family.

 

“She was a pillar in our district. I encourage the children she has left behind to remain strong and trust that God will guide them,” Ms. Namanda said.

Representing the District Chairperson, Rt. Hon. George Stanley Muwonge, Deputy Speaker of Mukono District Council and District Councilor for Kyampisi Sub- County, described Ms. Nampina as “a very hardworking lady in Kyampisi and the district at large.” He reminded mourners of the inevitability of death and the importance of living a life of righteousness and service.

Born on August 2, 1985, to Mr. and Mrs. Waiswa David in Baitambogwe, Mayuge District, Annet’s journey from humble beginnings to becoming a highly respected civil servant is a story of resilience and determination.

She began her education in the early 1990s, completing her Primary Leaving Examinations in 1997. She proceeded to Kilibaki Secondary School in Iganga for O-Level and later joined Green Field High School in Mayuge for A-Level studies. Awarded a government sponsorship, she joined the Fisheries Training Institute in Entebbe, graduating with a diploma in fisheries.

Her professional journey began in Namutumba District before she was transferred in 2015 to Mukono District Local Government, serving as Fisheries Officer and Sub- County Production Officer in Kyampisi until her untimely passing.

Described by colleagues as humble, flexible, hardworking, and open-minded, Ms. Nampina worked beyond her core duties, often supporting other departments and community initiatives. Her legacy is woven into the lives she touched and the projects she led, leaving a lasting impact on the district.

Ms. Nampina Annet will be laid to rest at her ancestral home in Baitambogwe, Mayuge District, on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. Mukono District salutes her enduring legacy of service, humility, and strength.
